The unsubscribed beta-tester

Two weeks have passed...

Journal Entry: Fri Jul 25, 2008, 10:50 AM

The storm has touched down...

It's that time of year when you're relaxing and unwinding, in the summer sunshine or out of winter's chill - depending on where you live. But, just as you're about to slap on another layer of suntan lotion, or huddle ever deeper below the blankets, you catch sight of a grey and looming Force Of Nature gathering on the horizon - a storm!

Well, what are you going to do? Photograph it from different angles? Sketch it with different grades of graphite? Write a serene haiku, while the winds whip around you? Of course you are! And *Nelleke and I are holding a contest to welcome your efforts!

So there you are: you have until August 25th to submit something NEW and SPECIFICALLY FOR this contest, that is in some way inspired, based on or includes a storm in a major way. You can submit as many entries as you want, by noting either me or *Nelleke.

And don't forget to have fun! ...And to hold on to your umbrella.

Can this be figurative, or it has to be about a real storm?
I mean, like in "Fairy of the storm" or like "this is the tornado that wiped out my house"?

If it's inspired by a storm and includes one in a major way, then yes. :)
But if "Fairy of the Storm" is the only reference to a storm in the entire piece of work, then no.

Nice. I'm not sure I find time for scribbling something for this contest, but I'm definitely going to mention this in my next journal. As soon as I get used to v6, that is. :D
